The Como Public School difference
A strong start
Our school welcomes all students from all backgrounds. We help every child feel safe, included and ready to learn from their very first day.
Growth in the classroom and beyond
We offer our students a wide range of subjects and opportunities. This empowers them to learn, develop skills, and discover their passions.
Support for every family
Our teachers and learning and wellbeing support teams work with our families. We co-design plans that help students learn in the way that works best for them.
Principal's message
Welcome to Como Public School, a proud NSW Department of Education school where every child is known, valued and cared for, and supported to achieve their personal best.
Set along the beautiful Georges River on Dharawal land, Como Public School offers the opportunities of a larger school within a warm, nurturing environment. Here, every student is encouraged to grow as a confident, curious and capable learner.
Our dedicated and experienced staff work in partnership with families to support each child’s academic success, wellbeing and personal growth. Guided by the NSW Department of Education’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, we deliver engaging, evidence-based programs that meet the needs of all students.
Every classroom is air-conditioned and equipped with interactive whiteboards, iPads and laptops, ensuring students are connected to the world through dynamic, technology rich learning experiences. Alongside a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and digital learning, students participate in a variety of sporting and creative pursuits, including PSSA sport, dance, drama, choir, music, French language, coding, gymnastics and more. These programs allow students to explore their passions, develop new skills and discover their strengths.
By choosing Como Public School, you are choosing a caring, engaging and dynamic school community. One that values curiosity, celebrates success and builds strong foundations for lifelong learning.
As the Relieving Principal, I am proud to lead a school where staff, students and families work together to create a supportive, inclusive and inspiring environment. At Como Public School, learning is exciting, community matters, and every child is given the opportunity to shine.
Mrs Charlotte McGuinness, Relieving Principal of Como Public School
